Breaking:Charlotte 49ers Men and women teams are on fire…
|Charlotte 49ers Men and women Basketball teams are on fire
The men’s and women’s teams of the Charlotte 49ers have performed
admirably on the court, despite the Charlotte Hornets’ disappointing campaign.
According to preseason rankings in the American Athletic Conference, the
women’s team was predicted to place tenth. Not much was expected of the
women because there are 14 teams in the league, but they are currently leading by a half game with a 5-1 record.
On January 3rd, the women defeated South Florida, the preseason favorite to win the AAC title.
Charlotte is unfazed by the growing expectations that accompany their winning streak
We weren’t too concerned about it because those expectations were just
people’s opinions, according to Charlotte women’s head coach Cara Consuegra. “What matters most is that our
expectations prior to the season began differed from those of the general public.” What do we think of our group and what kind of people we think we
could be? These were already lofty goals. The opinions of those in our social circle are important, so we should keep that in mind.
Forward Tracey Hueston commented, “I think it’s funny that there has been talk about our intentions and our feelings on
the court because you’re not here in the gym with us every day.” “Don’t doubt our intentions because you don’t work with
us on a daily basis. Ultimately, our hearts are what make us as a program, so don’t question that.
Although this team is off to a fantastic start, we might not have seen their best, particularly in terms of scoring.
Coach Consuegra stated, “There are moments when you get frustrated when you’re working on something for a long time but you’re not seeing results.” However, good things take time, and I believe we worked very hard on our offense toward the end of November and into December after returning from Christmas. I believe you can see the results. You have no idea how hard we worked on the reads, transition, timing, or any of the other aspects of our performance.
Regarding the men’s division, Charlotte was predicted to place 13th out of 14
teams. After five conference games, the Niners are tied for second place with a 4-
1 record. However, if the Niners defeat North Texas on Saturday, they will take the top spot in the AAC.
Although the matchup with North Texas on Saturday is significant, winning the conference after a few games is not the ultimate objective.
Aaron Fearne, the head coach of the Niners, stated, “No one is winning the championship today.” “Our only goals are to improve as a team, reach our
maximum potential at the end of the season, and play the best basketball possible. Because, on occasion, teams can
play fantastic ball in the middle of the season before faltering towards the end, but our aim is to peak at the appropriate time
