2023 Copeland Trophy Winner Josh Daicos is progressing in his recovery from some lower leg muscle/nerve pain he experienced whilst running during the three-week break.
Following a period of down-load, Daicos has commenced a running program and should progress quickly into skills over
the next three weeks while monitoring his response to training loads.
Brayden Maynard is integrating into full training, ten weeks after his shoulder surgery. After a five-week block of
running, Maynard has returned to contact training and will be involved in
match simulation over the next two to three weeks.
2023 Leading Goalkicker Brody Mihocek had a calf complaint prior to
the three-week break and has since ramped up his training intensity. The
forward is expected to be cleared for match play next week.
Young half-back Jakob Ryan experienced some discomfort with running on his return to training after
the three-week break, with scans revealing minor bone bruising in his
lower leg. The 19-year-old will look to start re-running this week and will be
assessed on how quickly he can return to training.
Dan McStay has commenced a full lower body gym program and is quicky
regaining strength through his injured knee. With it now being seven weeks
post-surgery, the tall forward has begun some higher intensity bike sessions and
is progressing towards running within the next four to six weeks.
Further injury updates will be communicated by the Club in the lead up
to February’s official match simulation and practice matches.
