Just in:Sunderland have identified an “incredible” coach to replace Beale – report

Sunderland could make move for “incredible” coach to replace Michael Beale

This would be an audacious appointment by the Black Cats.

It’s already thought that Michael Beale’s position as Sunderland manager is in

jeopardy, and a “incredible” candidate is supposedly being lined up to take his place.

Michael Beale under pressure at Sunderland

The 43-year-old replaced Tony Mowbray in the Stadium of Light hot seat earlier in the season, in what was seen as a

surprise decision by many. Mowbray guided Sunderland within touching

distance of the playoffs in the Championship last term, and was

threatening to do the same last time around, prior to his dismissal.

Since taking over as the Black Cats’ new manager, Beale’s tenure has been nothing short of terrible. The team’s results and performances have been well below average, especially last Friday’s 1-0 loss to Hull City at home. After that match, the Englishman’s followers turned against him, with some believing he isn’t the appropriate player to lead the side to success.

His time at Rangers ended in disappointing fashion, and while there was hope that he could be an upgrade on Mowbray, that certainly isn’t looking like the case at the moment.

Sunderland eyeing Will Still for the summer

In case Beale is relieved of his duties, Sunderland sees Reims boss Will Still as a potential manager replacement, according to an update from local journalist Michael Graham. However, the move is expected to occur in the summer.

I’ve said it before, but I believe Dodds will remain in charge until the end of the season if Beale leaves. Then, in the summer, suspect returns for Will Still.”

It does seem like Beale has already lost too much ground against the tide in a short period of time, and at this point, only a miracle can save his bacon.

Even though he has proven to be an excellent coach over the years—Liverpool great Steven Gerrard famously

remarked, “It would take me 15/20 years to become as good as Michael Beale as an

on-pitch coach”—the former Rangers manager seems unsuited for this level of

management and Still seems like such an intriguing alternative.

He is only 31 years of age, but Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has lauded him, saying “the success he’s had has been

incredible”, and the fact that he has guided Reims to sixth place in the Ligue 1

table currently speaks volumes about his qualities in the role.

Of course, there would be a chance that Sunderland would appoint Despite his

youth and inexperience, he has the potential to be Kyril Louis-Dreyfus’s

game-changing long-term addition. He is renowned for his 4-2-3-1 structure and

forward-thinking approach to the game in all areas.
