Jack Clarke targeting more Sunderland success despite Premier League links

The Black Cats winger has been one of the standout players for the Black Cats this season

After scoring 100 goals in 100 appearances for Sunderland, flying winger Jack Clarke stated, “I want to kick on and continue to contribute to the team’s output.”

He can definitely accomplish that. With his tendency to thrill, the 23-year-old has won over many fans and elevated his own game, which is fantastic to witness.

During Friday night’s 1-0 loss to Hull City at home, he gave hints as to why he has gained so much popularity. He has made a significant impact to Wearside with 25 goals and 20 assists, and he is now approaching his second anniversary at the Stadium of Light.

“I came here with a point to prove and I think my performances have gone a long way to showing what I can do over the last two years,” the free-scoring winger addressed the team, expressing his happiness at Sunderland. Although I’ve always supported myself to score goals and provide assists, I’ve always wanted to play games.

In addition to being incredibly proud to be a player for Sunderland, I’m also quite

proud of what we have accomplished in the previous two years. Even while the

team’s two consecutive play-off finishes and promotion from League One have

been extremely memorable, there have also been a lot of positive stories.

“I stated from the beginning of last summer that I felt I could have scored

more goals, even if I was pleased with my return to goals from the previous

campaign. Although surpassing that sum is an amazing feeling, I’m incredibly

happy that the goals have contributed so much to our team.

Clarke hopes to continue creating memories in red and white throughout the final 18 games.

“It’s hard for me to believe we’ve played 100 games, but this club has given me the

confidence to succeed. We’ve made so many memories that I will always

cherish, and for that, I am incredibly thankful,” he continued.

“My goal is to keep pushing forward and contributing to the team’s accomplishments. We believe we can match anyone, regardless of where they are at the table, and we have always tried to attack the division.
