|Nottingham Forest have agreed deal and personal terms with magical Ajax star who is to
According to reports, Nottingham Forest and Ajax, a Dutch team, are in “advanced
talks” about bringing Carlos Borges to the City Ground this month.
The 19-year-old only relocated to the Netherlands last summer, when he signed a five-year contract with the
Eredivisie powerhouses following his £12 million departure from Manchester City. Borges attended the youth academy of
the Premier League winners and was named the U18s’ player of the season in 2021.
However, it appears that he may be ready to return to the Premier League, becoming Nuno Espirito Santo’s first
acquisition at Forest in the process, after just 16 games and one goal while wearing an Ajax shirt.
On the social media platform X, journalist Fabrizio Romano posted:
“Carlos Borges from Ajax is being discussed for a loan by Nottingham Forest. Ajax has been contacted by the
#NFFC to bring Carlos back to the Premier League; negotiations are ongoing.”
It seems, though, that the Forest manager is not just interested in Borges; Giovanni
Reyna, an attacking midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, is also reportedly
wanted at the City Ground. “Forest want both Borges & Gio Reyna,” Romano continued.
Reyna, a star for the United States Men’s National Team, is the son of former
Premier League player Claudio Reyna. He joined Dortmund’s youth team in 2019. Over the course of four and a half
seasons, the 21-year-old has made 120 appearances for the Bundesliga team, tallying 17 goals.
In an effort to keep Forest safe from the threat of relegation, Espirito Santo is
trying to bolster his team. The Portuguese manager is hoping that securing the signings of Borges and
Reyna will help supply the ammunition necessary to maintain the team’s top-tier standing.
Forest is four points above the relegation zone in the Premier League standings as of right now.
