Unbelievable as Bil Belichick has finally lost his momentum on the Falcon Job as 

After Bill Belichick left the New England Patriots, there was little doubt that he

would be on the sidelines in 2024 given the number of positions that were still

opening up throughout the NFL. Where he ends up would be the only unanswered question.

Two weeks have passed, and many of those doors have remained closed. Even worse for the future Hall of Fame coach,

the team that was supposed to be his landing spot doesn’t seem to be a lock anymore.

There have reportedly been two meetings between Belichick and Arthur Blank, the owner of the Atlanta Falcons,

suggesting that the former Patriots coach would eventually take his skills to Georgia before the 2024 season.

The 71-year-old coach, who will be 72 by the time games begin in September of

next year, has reportedly faced resistance from the front office, but the

Falcons have continued interviewing potential head coaches in spite of those meetings.

A total of 14 candidates have been interviewed by Atlanta, according to Josh

Kendall of The Athletic, and one of the most renowned available coaches is still

available. Later this week, the team is reportedly scheduled to interview former Titans coach Mike Vrabel. Given

the likelihood, the former Patriots tight end may be the one to deny his former coach the chance to continue coaching.

It’s surprising that Belichick hasn’t attracted a little more attention. Any

team following the events of the Wild Card and Divisional rounds thus far would have been reminded of how

crucial having a player such as him on a team’s sideline may have been in these postseason matchups.

Whatever you think of him, he is undoubtedly a player who could have

made a big difference in a few of the close games that we have seen teams lose over the past few weeks.

Even though there were personnel issues with his offensive team-building, there’s

no denying that he’s among the best when it comes to playing between the lines on Sundays

Kendall continues, “What had seemed to be a likely landing spot in Atlanta has

lost momentum.” This could imply that Belichick’s return to Atlanta in 2024 is becoming less and less likely as time goes on.

Belichick has seen a number of players he cut loose struggle to make it in their post-release careers outside of New England. It’s probably safe to say that,

given what’s happened so far, he probably didn’t anticipate becoming one of them.
