Breaking news: Collingwood magpie has been back to defend their title this 2024 and these what has been said……
|“Someone that I trust very, very much”: Premiership Cat will “always” back Pies, cites inside source at club
“He said that he hasn’t seen a group come back after a premiership as good as this.”
A Geelong premiership hero has stated that he will always think Collingwood
has a chance, and he has provided insider information to back up his views.
As Craig McRae’s team gets ready to defend its title in 2024, confidence at
Olympic Park appears to be at an all-time high
following the Magpies’ successful 2023 season.
Former Cat and Roo Cameron Mooney expressed his opinion that the Pies can
win the championship for a second straight year when he joined the GWS Giants as an advisor on Tuesday. Mooney
had previously worked as a media analyst for many years.
Mooney said, “I’ve got someone that I trust very, very much who was a big part
of our premiership years down at Geelong and now does some work at
work at Collingwood,” during an appearance on SEN’s The Run Home.
“He said that he hasn’t seen a group come back after a premiership as good as this.
“Here’s the thing: Collingwood is the best side in the competition, thus I will always
support them to win the 2024 Premiership.
“So, until (proven) otherwise, I’m going to keep backing them to win it.”
Mooney, who participated in the 1999 North Melbourne premiership as well, put up his boots at the end of the 2011
campaign, having played in 221 games across 15 seasons, the highlights of
which were Geelong’s flag victories in 2007 and 2009.
Regarding his upcoming position with the Giants at the Showgrounds, the 44-
year-old is anticipated to provide part-time support to the team’s star forwards and ruckmen.
Mooney went on to elaborate on his premise, saying, “The one thing I will
always say is, it’s amazing what happens the year after you win a premiership.”
“This is ‘Fly’ (McRae)’s third year in this role. Thus, this is the third pre-season in
which their evolving game is being played.
“Winning is an incredible feeling (a flag). Everyone has increased their confidence,
understanding of their duties, identity, and contributions, and they all contribute an additional 10% to 15%.
“It’s actually incredible to watch it and I’ve been involved in it, and I’ve seen it.”
Collingwood’s pre-season matches against North Melbourne and Richmond
are planned before they take on GWS in the Opening Round.
