Falcons hire Raheem Morris as head coach, pass on Belichick: reports

Former Bucs bench boss served as Atlanta’s interim coach before becoming Rams’ DC

After a thorough search that included six-time Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick, the Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris was hired by the Atlanta Falcons as their head coach, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press.

The individual spoke under the condition of anonymity because the announcement had not been made by the team.

Having been the Falcons’ interim head coach for the final 11 games of the 2020

season following Dan Quinn’s sacking, Morris is well-known in Atlanta. Hespent three seasons as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ coach in the past.
