DONE DEAL:CRYSTAL PALACE AGREE £8M DEAL TO SIGN STAR WHO WILL SCORE ‘PLENTY OF GOALS

SOURCES: CRYSTAL PALACE AGREE £8M DEAL TO SIGN STAR WHO WILL SCORE ‘PLENTY OF GOALS’

Daniel Munoz, a right back for Genk, has agreed to join Crystal Palace for an initial fee of £8 million. The Colombian international will play for the Premier League team for four and a half years.

HITC Football is aware that Crystal Palace is close to finalizing a deal that would put an end to their protracted search for a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. This comes after considerable conjecture around one of Europe’s most formidable attacking full-backs.

It is five years since Wan-Bissaka left Selhurst Park for Manchester United. And, while Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne are still reliable operators at this level, Munoz should represent a substantial upgrade in what has become something of a ‘problem position’.

Crystal Palace agree Daniel Munoz fee with Genk

HITC has been notified that Palace and KRC Genk have now reached an initial agreement on a fee of £8 million. Eventually, the Eagles may have to pay £10 million, including add-ons, as Munoz is expected to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract in West London.

Munoz is scheduled to land in the capital of England today. It should be official

that he has signed sometime this weekend.

We hear that Palace intensified their efforts to sign Munoz once it was

determined that a possible comeback for Wan-Bissaka would not be possible.

Remarkably, Munoz recently acknowledged that moving to the

Premier League would be a “dream come true.” Munoz, a full-back with a strong

attack-minded mindset, was offered by Everton prior to the Toffees signing

Nathan Patterson from Rangers. Since the beginning of the previous campaign,

Munoz has scored 15 goals and assisted nine more.

That it would set you back ten million pounds? Not a lot of money, especially

for an English club. That is a substantial amount for KRC Genk, the former

Belgium international Eric Van Meir tells Voetbal Nieuws.

“I think he fits in the Premier League. He already has enough drive. Munoz and

the Premier League, that could be a good match.”

‘Plenty of goals in him’

“Daniel Munoz is 27. Experienced. He’s Colombia’s first choice right-back. He’s

an attacking right-back. There’s plenty of goals in him from that position, both

with his right foot and getting in at the far post with his headers,” says South

American expert Tim Vickery, speaking to Sky Sports.

“He can go on the outside and cross. He’s quite tall, he’s more than 6ft, but defensively he maybe can be caught a

little bit off balance. He can be ready for the Premier League, as long as you

realise that what you’re buying here is an attacking right-back.”

HITC Football, which has averaged somewhat more than a goal per game under Roy Hodgson, is aware that Palace

is also considering strikers. Vangelis Pavlidis of AZ Alkmaar and Armando

Broja of Chelsea are both being considered.

However, Jhon Cordoba’s representative for Krasnodar has ruled out leaving in January.
