Atlanta falcons are set to snatch another Rams coach as Raheem Morris wants to 

Following a comprehensive interview process, the Atlanta Falcons have selected Raheem Morris, the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, to

be their next head coach. It will now be Morris’ responsibility as the Falcons’ head coach to assemble the coaching

staff. Zac Robinson, the quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator for the Rams, is reportedly a top contender to

succeed Morris as offensive coordinator, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

Robinson likely was going to sign a contract to leave the Rams this offseason. This offseason, Robinson has conducted interviews with the New Orleans Saints

and Chicago Bears, among other teams, for the position of offensive coordinator. Now that Morris has departed, Robinson’s exit is all but certain. In

Atlanta, Robinson will have some enjoyable pieces to work with. Along with having offensive weapons in Bijan

Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts, the Falcons will be in a position to select a quarterback in the draft.

Morris may bring along other Rams coaches in addition to Robinson. Jimmy

Lake is a person to keep an eye on. Morris was the defensive backs coach in Tampa Bay, and Lake was the assistant

coach. After Morris was appointed head coach, he was elevated to the position of defensive backs coach.

Another option for a defensive coordinator might be Aubrey Pleasant. The two coaches have known each other since 2014, when Morris was the

defensive backs coach in Washington and Pleasant was the defensive quality control coach

Since joining the Rams and McVay in 2019 as the assistant quarterbacks coach, Robinson has been a part of the team.

Last offseason, he was elevated to the position of quarterbacks coach and coordinator of the pass game.

This offseason has changed from what initially appeared to be one in which Sean McVay would not need to replace a large number of his coaching staff. The

Rams are currently searching for a new quarterback coach, defensive line coach, defensive coordinator, and possibly other positions. In the past, McVay has

assembled a strong coaching staff through hires. When everything is official, we’ll see who he appoints.
