Sunderland have rejected a £14million offer from Lazio for winger Jack Clarke.

The 23-year-old has drawn interest from West Ham, Brentford, and Burnley, but Sunderland wants to keep him.

Tottenham holds onto a 25% sell-on.

Since the summer, negotiations have been ongoing regarding the winger’s contract extension. This season, he has scored 13 goals in 29 Championship appearances.

However, the Wearside team hasn’t been able to get his signature yet.

Sunderland remain in talks to extend his stay at the Stadium of Light, but as of yet, have failed to agree improved terms

Clarke’s potential exit was downplayed by Black Cats sporting director Kristjaan Speakman last week, as the team is committed to keeping its finest players at the Stadium of Light.

“I hear about players being sold, but our goal is to keep our best players, help

them grow, and help them advance in the league,” Speakman stated.

‘I get the nervousness around selling players but there are players we all love

and our ambition is to retain them and keep developing.’
