Major development emerges in Sunderland’s pursuit of Man United forward

Signifcant development emerges in Sunderland’s pursuit of Man United forward

Amad Diallo spent last season on loan at The Stadium of Light, and now he wants a return to Wearside

Amad Diallo, a winger for Manchester United, has requested directly that the Red Devils permit him to sign a loan with Sunderland, according to Sunderland Nation.

The 21-year-old scored 13 goals in 37 Championship outings during his impressive tenure at The Stadium of Light in the previous campaign.

FA Cup 3 0 1 251

Furthermore, it appears that his stint in the North East had an impact because the Ivorian is eager to return to the team on loan for the balance of the year in order to support Michael Beale’s play-off push.

He had hoped to use his performances last season as a springboard to ignite his Old Trafford career, but a knee injury in pre-season hampered his progression within Erik ten Hag’s side.

Amad Diallo’s return to fitness could come at the perfect time for Sunderland

The 21-year-old made his comeback to the field in Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on the road at the close of the previous campaign. This past weekend, he was listed as a substitute for their FA Cup fourth-round match against Newport County.

The player has reportedly asked to be permitted to return to Sunderland on

loan for the second half of the season, according to a report from Sunderland Nation.

But there are still challenges ahead, mainly financial ones because, in

contrast to the previous season, Man United wants the majority of Amad’s

salary to be paid under the terms of the loan.

Sunderland is happy to absorb some cost, but they will try to bargain them down on that.

Amad has made it quite apparent that he would only like to join with Sunderland out of all the Championship teams.

He messaged a Sunderland fan group to inform them that the links he had been

making with Middlesbrough earlier in the month were “fake” and that he would only be joining Sunderland.

It is important to emphasize that an agreement is not certain.

Additionally, given that they allowed Jadon Sancho to depart for Borussia

Dortmund in the January transfer window, Man United may decide to

reevaluate their choices and decide to be careful in keeping him.

Amad’s return to Sunderland for a second loan period is, nonetheless,

becoming increasingly likely. This would electrify the Stadium of Light ahead of their next games.

Amad Diallo would add goals to Sunderland’s misfiring attack

This season, the Black Cats have struggled with depending too much on winger Jack Clarke’s goals.

Despite being added in the summer to contribute goals, Mason Burstow, Luis

Semedo, Eliezer Mayenda, and Nazariy Rusyn have only managed two goals

between them through halfway through the season.

In 29 Championship games this season, Clarke has scored 13 goals, which is higher than the next three highest scorers in Beale’s squad.

The York-born player is now being linked to a transfer out of the North East. According to the Sunderland Echo, Lazio is eager to leave after turning down bids from Burnley in the summer. West Ham has also expressed interest in the forward in recent weeks.

But Clarke appears to be staying on Wearside past the January transfer window, and having Amad in their attacking lineup might provide them the boost in goals they need to go up the league and into the play-off spots.

Championship Table (As it stands January 29th)
Team P GD Pts
1 Leicester City 28 34 66
2 Ipswich Town 28 16 59
3 Southampton 28 21 58
4 Leeds United 29 25 57
5 West Brom 28 13 45
6 Coventry City 28 13 43
7 Sunderland 29 8 43
8 Hull City 28 4 42

In order to begin February with a somewhat more favorable schedule than those around them, Sunderland will play only teams in the lower half of the Championship table for the remainder of the month. Their next matchup is against Middlesbrough.

With the signing of Amad Diallo, Sunderland’s challenge for the Premier League might gain significant momentum over the course of the next month.
