defender Brayden Maynard was unharmed in a “minor car accident” on Monday, according to Collingwood.
Maynard missed his side’s training session because he was traveling to Melbourne early in the morning on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway.
According to 7 News, Maynard and another motorist were engaged in an accident, but no one was hurt.
According to a club statement given to the network, Collingwood “confirms
Brayden Maynard was involved in a very minor car accident earlier this morning.”
Crucially, nobody was harmed. Brayden’s car only sustained minor exterior
damage while exchanging contact information with the other driver.
According to reporter Mitch Cleary, witnesses saw a car that matched
Maynard’s description of “swerving and cutting off other cars” on the freeway, and they notified the police
Cleary stated on Monday night that “police have confirmed to 7 NEWS that
witnesses told them a car matching his description was seen in the area
swerving and cutting off other cars before 6:00am on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway.”
Due to an extended recovery period following off-season shoulder surgery, Maynard is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
The Premiership defender recently reduced his training workload and should be ready for Collingwood’s pre-season schedule.
The Magpies’ pre-season run into the home and away season will include
games against Richmond and North Melbourne next month. The Opening
Round matchup against GWS at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday, March 9, will kick off the season.
