Transfer update:Leeds are ‘close’ to completing a very important signing that will improve the squad

Insider claims Leeds are ‘close’ to completing very good signing

Before the transfer window shuts, Leeds United is supposedly close to completing the signing of Everton defender Ben Godfrey.

Daniel Farke will be eager to add some defensive reinforcements before the transfer market closes later this week,

having already lost Luke Ayling and Djed Spence earlier in the January window.

Leeds, who are now ranked fourth in the Championship, have a huge second half of the season ahead of them if they hope to be automatically promoted back to the Premier League.

A deal for Everton defender Godfrey is reportedly “close,” according to former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who may be the perfect addition to give them the push they need to conclude on a high note.

Godfrey can play holding midfield and anywhere across the back four, therefore I believe he would be a fantastic addition. He informed MOT Leeds.

“If what I’m hearing is accurate, I believe the deal for him is closed, and I think he would be a fantastic addition.”

The arrival of Jarrad Branthwaite has forced the English defender to the bench,

giving him a difficult time getting minutes this season.

Leeds still has a game in hand over their rivals, Ipswich Town, however Farke’s

team is only two points ahead of them in second place.
