Why another Sean McVay is to be appointed as their new Offensive coordinator

According to Albert Breer of MMQB, Los Angeles Rams pass-game specialist Jake
Peetz will interview on Thursday for the position of offensive coordinator with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 40-year-old Peetz has a wealth of football experience at all levels and in a
variety of roles. In 2022, he became a member of head coach Sean McVay’s
team, the Rams. In 2014, the two had previously collaborated on coach Jay Gruden’s staff for the Washington
Redskins, where McVay was the offensive coordinator and Peetz was the offensive quality control coach.
Peetz’s career highlights include stints with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, Oakland Raiders, and Jacksonville
Jaguars in addition to his time spent as a college player at UCLA, LSU, and Alabama.
Peetz is interviewing for the position left open by Dave Canales, who, following a highly successful season in Tampa Bay,
was hired as the Panthers’ coach. Canales assisted in reviving quarterback Baker Mayfield’s career while working for
coach Todd Bowles. Peetz has obviously worked with Mayfield before; in 2022, he played five games with the Rams.
This offseason, McVay’s staff has already lost a few members, the most notable of whom was defensive coordinator
Raheem Morris, who is currently the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. It appears like McVay has to make
adjustments to his staff every offseason because the league is in a desperate search for the next brilliant offensive
mind. After selecting his next defensive coordinator, McVay might decide to look for a new pass-game specialist.
