Top European club is preparing a last- minute transfer raid for a Leicester city player

Patson Daka of Leicester City is a target for Real Betis, who want to add a new number nine before the transfer deadline.

The Foxes have had an incredible season thus far, leading the Championship and appearing certain to make an instant return to the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca’s arsenal, which includes Daka, Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho,

and Tom Cannon as options for the striker position, has been a major factor in that.

The fierce competition for spots has made it difficult for the Zambian international to be consistent, as he has

only made eight appearances in the Championship despite contributing three assists and four goals in those games.

That seems to have spurred Betis, though, as Mundo Deportivo has

disclosed that the 25-year-old is becoming a top target for the La Liga

team, who are trying to replace Borja Iglesias, who recently signed with Bayer Leverkusen.

It’s reasonable to argue that Daka hasn’t lived up to the expectations that were

raised when he arrived, considering that he had a solid reputation from his exceptional scoring record with Salzburg in Austria.

Not that he hasn’t been a huge failure, but Daka’s career is currently at a

turning point, and in order to demonstrate his abilities, he needs to get a consistent run of games.

It’s unclear if that will happen at Leicester, so it will be interesting to watch what happens with Daka over the

course of the next day. Daka is under contract at the King Power Stadium through 2026.
