New York Jets Predicted To Trade for Ex-Aaron Rodgers Weapon

Wide receiver Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders has once more been connected to the New York Jets in the

offseason. Considering that Aaron Rodgers, his former quarterback, is

already a member of the New York team, it may not come as a surprise that

rumors of a reunion between them have always circulated.

Adams’ future with the Raiders is also uncertain, particularly in light of the

hiring of a new general manager and the team’s apparent desire for a new

beginning following Antonio Pierce’s official appointment as head coach.

Having said that, if Adams is placed on the trade block, it makes sense for the Jets to intervene and acquire him.

The Report on Bleachers The NFL scouting department identified Adams, along with Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Cam Robinson and a possible Day 2 choice in the 2024 NFL Draft, as one of the Jets’ top trade targets in the offseason.

Although Adams may be hard to deal for, the BR article proposed a trade that would get the Jets Rodgers’ former Green Bay Packers weapon. In exchange for Adams and the Raiders’ No. 13 pick in 2024, New York would have to deliver its Nos. 10 and 111 picks from 2024, as well as their second- and fourth-round selections from 2025.

By pursuing Aaron Rodgers, the Jets have already shifted the majority of their chips to the middle of the table. Why not go all in and get Rodgers back together with his dream target?

This deal has a lot of moving components. Though they would still need to find a way to move up in the

draft, the Raiders would have a chance to move up above the Vikings and Broncos

—two teams that could be interested in Adams—should Jayden Daniels slip or if

they have a strong interest in Michael Penix.

Of course it’s unknown how much interest the Jets actually have for Davante Adams. But if Aaron Rodgers campaigns for him, it’s not hard to see New York trying to make a deal happen.

Davante Adams Had Bis Best Years Alongside Aaron Rodgers

Davante Adams would be desirable to the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers for a number of reasons. His relationship with Rodgers is already well-established, and he was at his finest when the two were teammates for the Packers.

With Rodgers as his quarterback for the Packers for eight years, Adams amassed 9,637 yards and 87 touchdowns on 769 receptions. He eclipsed the 1000-yard threshold four times in his final five seasons with the squad.

Jets supporters shouldn’t get too attached to Rodgers and Adams just yet, even if it will be fantastic to see them together again.
