How Adebayo and Butler put an incredible performance to Dump Wizard

Adebayo and Butler put an incredible performance to Dump Wizard

On Friday night, the Miami Heat defeated the Washington Wizards 110-102 thanks to a strong third quarter that

saw Jimmy Butler score 24 points, Bam Adebayo add 20 points and 14 rebounds, and other players chip in.

A day after being left off of this year’s Eastern Conference reserves, the six-time All-Star, who has missed fifteen games

this season, went seven of ten from the field and made his only three-point attempt.

On a night when the Heat shot 43.2% from the field and just 7 of 31 from three-point range, his efficiency was crucial.

“I may not have been as aggressive as I should have been in a few games,”

Butler, who finished with nine rebounds and nine points from the charity stripe,

said. We’ve discussed the need for that to alter. And you play aggressively right away, keeping everyone on their toes,

because I believe that when I play that way, it makes it much easier for everyone else to do their job.

A day after being named a reserve All-Star, Adebayo recorded his 25th double-double of the year to help Miami win two

straight games following a seven-game losing streak. In just 15 minutes, Kevin Love added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Butler remarked, “I think we’ve faced that difficulty, overcome it, and now it’s time to go.

With Wes Unseld Jr. out of the picture, Washington dropped to 2-3 under

interim coach Brian Keefe despite Corey Kispert’s season-high 26 points.

The Wizards were outscored by 16 points in the third quarter, led by Jordan Poole’s

16 points and 10 assists and Daniel Gafford’s 11 points and 14 rebounds. The

Los Angeles Clippers defeated Washington by 21 points in the same time frame on Wednesday night.

Washington lost 59-43 on the boards and 14-6 on the offensive glass, maintaining

their ranking as the worst rebounding team in the league.

Both teams didn’t shoot the ball well from three tonight, so I do believe there were some long rebounds, Keefe said.

However, that’s the area we’ve been concentrating on, and we will keep doing so.

Terry Rozier III’s free throws gave Miami the lead for the first time in the third

quarter, and they eventually took control with a 21-6 run to close out the frame.

The Heat took a firm lead thanks to Butler’s free throws, which he made by

launching the ball toward the hoop after feeling contact from Kyle Kuzma

Just before the quarter ended, Tyler Herro’s 3-pointer put the score at 87-74,

Jamie Jaquez Jr.’s layup put the lead at 10, and Love’s second 3-pointer over Kispert extended the lead to eight.

Love remarked, “We simply knew we had to play with more vigor and as a

more cohesive unit.” “And we felt like we did that from the beginning of the third all the way through.”

After leading 18–4 late in the fourth quarter, Poole missed the second of his two free throws with 31 seconds

remaining, preventing the Wizards from winning the game with just one possession.
