Transfer update:Star player is set to agree Aston Villa transfer next week after rejecting three moves

Sources: Calum Chambers could now agree Aston Villa transfer next week after rejecting three moves

Calum Chambers, an outcast at Aston Villa, turned down three deadline-day

offers, and clubs in Turkey are now considering a bid for him, sources have told Football Insider.

According to reports, West Brom was one among the teams vying for the 29-year-old’s services.

However, as Football Insider has reported, Chambers abruptly rejected

three last-minute suggestions when the window closed on Thursday, February 1.

After failing with moves last summer (2023), Super Lig clubs are anticipated to

re-register their interest in the defender during the last week of the Turkish window, which closes on February 9.

Villa manager Unai Emery has informed Chambers that he is not in his plans, but the two were unable to come to an agreement on the conditions of Chambers‘ departure in the late January window.

It’s thought Villa was working behind the scenes to finalize a deal for the former Arsenal star and will carry out more sale explorations over the course of the coming week.

Manager Emery made the rare decision to reveal to the public earlier this year

that Chambers and out-of-favour winger Bertrand Traore were both for sale.

On Thursday, February 1st, Traore’s contract was canceled. He then signed a

free transfer to join La Liga team Villarreal.

Chambers is still on the roster despite playing in just three games this season

for a total of 188 minutes. He is under contract at Villa Park until June 2025.

Villa had hoped to offload the pair to free up space and funds in the wage bill for more signings of their own.

With 43 points, Emery’s team is in fifth place in the Premier League standings

despite having only won one of their previous five games.
