In order to maintain their winning streak, the New York Knicks could have

used OG Anunoby to put pressure on the Los Angeles Lakers’ shooting team during the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately, Anunoby’s elbow inflammation caused him to miss his

fourth straight game, and the Lakers snapped the Knicks’ nine-game winning streak.

Before the Knicks lost 113-105 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, February 3, coach Tom Thibodeau made

the following statement, as reported by SNY’s Ian Begley: “You’ve always gotta trust the medical (staff) and trust the

player.” “Therefore, he’ll be out there when he’s well enough to go out and feel comfortable and trust his body.”

Since the Knicks defeated the Miami Heat on January 27, Anunoby has not participated in any games. Anunoby

averaged 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.8 steals in his first 14 games with the Knicks.

In the lineup with Anunoby, the Knicks went 12-2. Anunoby’s next opportunity to

make a comeback will be on Tuesday, February 6, three days after their next game against the Grizzlies on Saturday.
