Breaking:Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump are placed in the Championship League’s group of death.

Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump are placed in the Championship League’s group of death.

Ronnie O’Sullivan will compete against Judd Trump in the Championship League later this month.

Ronnie O’Sullivan will face Judd Trump in the Championship League after being placed in the same group. Trump will be

hoping to keep his winning streak going after winning the German Masters title

on Sunday by defeating Si Jiahui in Berlin.

Trump was scheduled to play in the Championship League in Leicester this

week, but he has been moved to a different group as a result of his

performances in Germany. He will now play in Group 7, facing O’Sullivan and Si on February 28 and 29.

The Bristol native has already won four ranking titles in what appears to be his

best professional season yet. He will be hoping to dethrone O’Sullivan at the top

of the world rankings by the end of the season, but it will be easier said than done in the coming months

After winning the German Masters, Trump said, “It’s nice to be back up there

challenging for the top spot at the end of the season. If Ronnie and I maintain our

current form, it will be a good battle, and we hope to meet in a few more finals before the season ends.

It remains to be seen how Trump will fare in the Championship League, having

lost to John Higgins in the final last year. He will be desperate to set a high standard by finishing ahead of

O’Sullivan, who has won a number of recent titles and hopes to go all the way once more.

In the Championship League, the winners of each group advance to the

Winners’ Group. The bottom two players in each group are eliminated, and the

remaining four players move on to the next group, which includes three new players. Stuart Bingham and Chris

Wakelin have already secured places in the Winners’ Group, with another player expected to join them on Tuesday.

Group 3 will see John Higgins, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Kyren Wilson, Gary Wilson, Tom Ford, and Xiao

Guodong compete for third place in the Winners’ Group. The winner will advance, the bottom two will be

eliminated, and the remaining four will be placed in Group 4, alongside Barry Hawkins, Jimmy Robertson, and Ricky Walden.

The eventual champion will receive £10,000 in prize money and a spot in the Champion of Champions event at the end of the year.
