Judd Trump on a Mission to break centuries Record

Judd Trump had another impressive season, reaching seven tournament

finals and collecting four pieces of silverware.

Since reaching the final of the European Masters in August, the world number

two has maintained a consistent presence at the business end of even

Trump lost that title-deciding match to Barry Hawkins and was denied victory

in the Champion of Champions and World Grand Prix by Mark Allen and Ronnie O’Sullivan, respectively

However, the Englishman had an outstanding month of October, winning a hat-trick of ranking titles in consecutive events.

Over the course of four weeks, Trump won the Northern Ireland, Wuhan, and English Opens.

The further Trump progresses in the World Championship, the better his chances of breaking the record become.

Trump’s average strike rate in 14 tournaments this season is 4.71 centuries per event.

If he maintains that level, he is expected to accumulate approximately 24

centuries before the World Championship begins in April.

That leaves 14 to be made in Sheffield, the same number that Trump

contributed to the 2019 edition when he won the silverware

Accomplishing the record will not be Judd Trump’s primary goal for the

remainder of this term, as more titles and lucrative paychecks are undoubtedly higher on his agenda.

However, the race to break this century’s record will undoubtedly provide an

intriguing subplot in the campaign’s final stages
