Sad news:Star player absent from 49ers’ Super Bowl practice due to a terrible, dreadful, disastrous injury he sustain that could keep him out for long term

Arik Armstead absent from 49ers’ 2nd Super Bowl practice

During their Super Bowl by week, the 49ers practiced on Thursday after skipping one on Wednesday. They only released a projected practice report because they didn’t use the field for a practice on Wednesday, but it contained more positive news than the report they released after practice on Thursday.

George Kittle, a tight end, is still listed by San Francisco as not participating due to a toe injury. That shouldn’t come as a big

surprise because he is a day-to-day player and taking time off will help him

recover in time for the Super Bowl on February 11. Arik Armstead, a defensive

tackle, was also listed as not participating due to foot and knee

problems. He participated fully in the Wednesday report that was scheduled.

Armstead was labeled as 100% healthy, so it’s unclear if he suffered a setback or simply received an extra day off. Either way, missing time after that is not good news.

The remainder of the report was unchanged, notwithstanding Trent Williams’ absence on Thursday for recuperation.

Ambry Thomas, a cornerback, and linebacker Oren Burks (shoulder) were still restricted, but defensive tackle Kalia Davis (ankle), who hopes to be activated off Injured Reserve, was still fully involved. The course of Armstead’s health during the next week may determine whether or not he is activated.
