Unbelievable:Will the Kansas City Chiefs or San Francisco 49ers lift the Lombardi Trophy in Las Vegas?

Will the Kansas City Chiefs or San Francisco 49ers lift the Lombardi Trophy in Las Vegas?

Will the Chiefs, led by Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, become the ninth squad in history to win the same franchise’s championship twice? Can the

San Francisco 49ers, led by Kyle Shanahan, reverse the outcome of Super Bowl LIV and win the team’s first Lombardi Trophy in almost thirty years?

Which athletes will stand out on the greatest platform in the game this Sunday at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium?

Michael Baca: 49ers 27, Chiefs 31,

Why: Kansas City takes an early lead and never looks back as Patrick Mahomes

tears apart San Francisco’s secondary, the weak point of the 49ers’ excellent defense, with three touchdown throws.

MVP of Super Bowl LIII: Patrick Mahomes.

Audacious forecast: In addition to wiping out his difficult season, Marquez Valdes-Scantling makes an incredible

touchdown grab that begs the question of how he could have missed any simple passes in the first place.

Judy Battista: 49ers 17, Chiefs 21

Why? Because Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes will make just enough plays to

win their third Lombardi, and Steve Spagnuolo will craft another defensive masterwork to limit all those 49ers weapons.

MVP of Super Bowl LIII: Patrick Mahomes.

Audacious forecast: A Chiefs touchdown pass will be completed by a player other than Mahomes.

Judy Battista: 49ers 17, Chiefs 21

Why? Because Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes will make just enough plays to win their third Lombardi, and Steve

Spagnuolo will craft another defensive masterwork to limit all those 49ers weapons.

MVP of Super Bowl LIII: Patrick Mahomes.

Audacious forecast: A Chiefs touchdown pass will be completed by a player other than Mahomes.

Raiders 23, Chiefs 24, Ali Bhanpuri

Why: Refrain. Select. Opposing. Pat. (That is, if he is portraying Brady.) It’s a basic rule that has worked well for me

throughout the years. Not ready to change tactics just now, not even when facing a formidable 49ers squad that

includes two MVP finalists. The Chiefs narrowly succeed in their attempt to win back-to-back games.

MVP of Super Bowl LVIII: Isiah Pacheco.

Audacious forecast: While No. 15 displays his well-known skill late in the

fourth quarter, Pacheco, also known as AD 2.0, drives the Chiefs’ offense for the majority of the game on Sunday. The

second-year running back scores twice in the end zone and breaks off at least three rushes of 15 yards or more.

Tom Blair: 49ers 24, Chiefs 27,

Why: In the end, Patrick Mahomes gives Kansas City the advantage as the Chiefs’ defense tightens up. If my midseason decision to choose the Eagles over the

Dolphins taught me anything, it was to remain loyal to my preseason choice of the Chiefs over the 49ers.

MVP of Super Bowl LIII: Patrick Mahomes.

Risky prediction: Rashee Rice surpasses Torry Holt’s mark of 109 yards received as a rookie in a Super Bowl.

49ers 21, Chiefs 23, Jeffri Chadiha

Why: The 49ers’ potent offense is contained by the Chiefs’ defense, and

Patrick Mahomes makes just enough plays to establish his club as a division leader.

MVP of Super Bowl LVIII: Isiah Pacheco.

Promising prediction: For the second consecutive year, Mahomes throws for

less than 200 yards in a Super Bowl victory.

49ers 25, Chiefs 27, Brooke Cersosimo

Why: Although my mind and heart aren’t in agreement, it’s difficult not to choose

Patrick Mahomes, the obvious pick. Though they can’t (see the Grim Reaper

Game), the 49ers nevertheless give Mahomes time remaining on the clock. Harrison Butker, without a doubt the

greatest player of his generation, leads the Chiefs down the field for a walk-off field goal.

MVP of Super Bowl LIII: Patrick Mahomes.

Promising forecast: Mahomes will run, catch, and pass for a score.

Chase Daniel: 49ers 28, Chiefs 34

Why: Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are the best.

MVP of Super Bowl LIII: Patrick Mahomes.

Audacious forecast: Brock Purdy tosses for over 325 yards and three touchdowns.
