Insider have given a major update on points deduction appeal

According to sources who spoke with Football Insider, Everton is unlikely to have positive news when the outcome of

their appeal against the 10-point penalty for Financial Fair Play violations is revealed.

The verdict is expected to be made public in the middle of February, according to senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke,

who was speaking on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast.

If Everton’s appeal is successful, the historic punishment could be lowered or

even eliminated, and in its place would be a financial fine or transfer ban.

Football Insider has been informed by a reliable insider that there is “not much hope for good news” about the situation.

The greatest result the Merseysiders could hope for is thought to be a

decrease to a six-point penalty, which would boost Everton’s total by four points.

The Toffees are currently one point behind Luton Town in 17th place in the Premier League relegation zone.

In the upcoming months, Sean Dyche’s team will also find out the result of their second FFP charge.

Last month, Everton and Nottingham Forest were accused of violating the Profitability and Sustainability Rules for the 2022–2023 season.

The case is being heard in a streamlined manner, and it is anticipated that a decision will be made in April.

On Saturday, February 10, Everton takes on Man City with the opportunity to move out of the relegation zone.
