Done deal: Leeds united have reached an agreement for star player to join the latter on a permanent basis

The real reason why Leeds United have sold Luis Sinisterra for less than originally agreed option-to-buy

Leeds United and Bournemouth have reached an agreement for Luis Sinisterra to join the latter on a permanent basis.

On summer’s deadline day, Sinisterra signed a season-long loan with the Cherries. Despite having a rough start, he has emerged as a vital member of the team in recent months.

At the conclusion of Sinisterra’s loan, Bournemouth included a buyout option in case Leeds were unable to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

But in light of AC Milan’s alleged interest, the two teams have now agreed to negotiate a new deal for about £20 million, which is less than it would have been in the summer.

Leeds has reportedly done this in order to guarantee payments immediately, as opposed to entering into a deal that may have been worth more but is contingent on add-ons and other factors, according to the Daily Echo. Additionally, it has no bearing whatsoever on Jaidon Anthony’s Leeds loan.

Leeds secure guaranteed Sinisterra funds

Though some supporters may view this figure as low for someone of Sinisterra’s talent, it is actually good business ensuring they receive guaranteed funds.

Profit and sustainability rules are extremely tight in the Championship and this sort of cash flow will only be beneficial to the club, particularly if they fail to win promotion this season.

If Leeds had returned to the Premier League, it would have been wonderful to have a player of his caliber rejoin the team, but in the end, there’s probably too much water under the bridge.

Leeds, and Angus Kinnear in particular, were not thrilled with his behavior in the background when he was lobbying for a move following the club’s relegation.

With 35 Championship goal contributions between them, players like Dan James and Crysencio Summerville have thankfully been more than willing to step up to the plate since his departure back in the summer.
