Snooker manager Barry Hearn to be ‘arrested’ as Eddie pleads ‘keep him there’

Barry Hearn, the head of snooker, has declared that he will be taken into

custody and “banged up” in Bristol this morning. He will be pulling a prank to

generate money for a “bail fund,” with all proceeds going to the Jessie May children’s hospice charity.

Hearn announced on social media that he would be taken into custody by police

on Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. at Bristol Temple Meads station. He claimed

that after being placed in a police van and handcuffed, he would be brought to court and placed in a cell.

Supporters were asked to contribute to a “bail fund,” which is a Just Giving

website created to gather money for the children’s hospice at Jessie May’s, in order to aid in his escape.

“Today at 9:15am, I will be arrested at Bristol Temple [Meads] station,” Hearn posted on X. “I will be handcuffed,

thrown into a police van, and brought to court to be beaten up while I raise the necessary bail to be released.”

As of this writing, the 75-year-old had raised somewhat less than £17,000. Son

Eddie and the World Snooker Tour are two of the contributors; each has contributed £500.

Hearn Jr. sent a cheeky message on the contributions page, asking to “keep him in there please.”

Hearn gained notoriety as the creator of Matchroom, the organization that oversees important darts, snooker, and

boxing competitions. In 2020, he gave Eddie day-to-day duties, but he still serves as an advisor.
