Even after Aaron Rodgers was injured, Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets, felt that the team’s offensive

could have performed better. The Jets had one of the worst offenses in the NFL this season.

When talking with several media outlets on Thursday night at the NFL Honors

awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Johnson was very candid about his frustration. He

made a remark to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington that was particularly disparaging of offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

Johnson told Darlington that Robert Saleh, the head coach, still has his trust. The 76-year-old added that Saleh will

focus on offensive going into 2024, leaving defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich in charge of the unit’s defense.

“He will focus on being offensive. Jeff will handle defense, and our special

teams are strong. Johnson stated, “It’s offense, offense, offense.” “Get the quarterback moving, like I’ve stated. Get

the line moving, you know. Practice running and make every effort to succeed.

What about Hackett, then? The owner is not the only one who appears

unimpressed with the team’s OC, according to Johnson. According to a recent article by Zach Rosenblatt and

Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Hackett didn’t put in as much effort or was unprepared for his first season with the Jets.

According to reports, Hackett will return as OC but play a less part. According to reports, Rodgers, who collaborated with

Hackett in Green Bay and played a significant role in the coach’s hiring by the Jets, is in favor of that strategy.

Johnson expressed his dissatisfaction with the Jets’ offense multiple times on

Thursday. Although it makes sense that Rodgers will address many of those

problems, Johnson feels the team might have performed better this season even without the former MVP.

Rodgers may no longer have faith in his friend Hackett after going viral once for publicly disagreeing with a play call on television.
