The Green Bay Packers released Davante Adams two offseasons ago. At the time, it was a surprising move, but once the dust

settled, it was clear that Adams was done with the Packers. He was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders for several high-end draft picks.

Since the trade, the Raiders have not been as successful as they had hoped. They’ve missed the playoffs both years Adams has been there and have had a

major quarterback change. In an effort to get their offense back on track, the Raiders have hired a former Packers coach.

According to Ian Rapoport, Aaron Rodgers is once again looking to persuade Davante Adams to join him in New York during the upcoming

offseason. However, the Raiders have stated that they currently have no intentions of trading Adams.

Rodgers’ efforts to recruit Adams come as no surprise, as he expressed his willingness to assist the front office in recruiting players during his end-of-season press conference.

“If [general manager Joe Douglas] wants my help in recruiting, I’m available. I don’t necessarily think it has to be

anybody associated with this system,” Rodgers remarked. “It’s about character. You know, I think we need some

characters on the offensive line. Some of the best lines we’ve ever had have had some serious characters.”

In the past two seasons, the Raiders have posted a 14-20 record and have not made the playoffs since 2021. This lack of

postseason success may not appeal to Adams, who likely seeks an opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl.

Despite undergoing a coaching change with Antonio Pierce taking over next

season, the Raiders still need upgrades in various areas, particularly at quarterback. Given their current

circumstances, it seems improbable that they will be in contention for a championship. It remains to be seen

what trade package the Jets could assemble if they pursue a trade for Adams.
