|Allen reaches century milestone in Welsh Open victory
Snooker player Mark Allen notched his 600th career century during the Welsh
Open in Llandudno, defeating China’s Ma Hailong 4-0 in the second round. Allen achieved this milestone with a break of
141 in the third frame, making him the 10th player in history to reach this achievement. He advanced to the next round to face Si Jiahui.
Si Jiahui, a semi-finalist in last year’s Crucible, continued his strong form from the previous week’s German Masters final by defeating Andrew Pagett 4-2.
Despite a challenging start to the season, Si expressed confidence in his ability to compete for titles regularly, particularly after his recent success.
In other matches, defending champion Robert Milkins started with a break of 140 in a 4-1 victory over Allan Taylor,
while John Higgins also won 4-1 against Tian Pengfei. Mark Williams secured a narrow 4-3 victory over Sanderson Lam
with a break of 96 in the decider. Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui also won their matches, with Robertson
triumphing over Stuart Carrington in a decider and Ding being upset 4-2 by Robbie Williams.
