Update emerges on Daniel Farke’s Leeds United contract situation amid promotion push

According to a report from Football Insider, Leeds United intends to offer Daniel Farke a better deal if they are promoted to the Premier League.

In the summer of last year, Leeds United announced Farke as their new manager

after a miserable 2022–2023 season. As the Whites were relegated from the

Premier League, they went through three different managers: Jesse Marsch, Javi

Gracia, and Sam Allardyce. None of them were able to save the team’s season.

But since Elland Road was demoted to the Championship, Farke has witnessed a significant uptick in the facility. He plays exciting attacking football and has some of the best players in the division on his team.

As a result, Leeds United is well-positioned in the race for promotion. The Whites sit second in the Championship table after six straight victories, but Southampton and Ipswich Town are closing in.

Football Insider now claims that manager Farke will receive a “huge” wage increase if the team gets the promotion they are headed for. Come summer, he will still be under contract for three years, but if he rejoins the Premier League, he will be eligible for a better deal.

The fight for promotion

Naturally, Leeds United still has a ways to go in the race for promotion, even though they are now ranked second. If they continue on their current path, they will return to the top division, but in a league with this level of competition, a hiccup or error now and then is unavoidable.

The Whites will also want to stay away from the playoff lottery. Even when it

appears like there is a front-runner for the third promotion position from the

Championship, they have the ability to pull off major upsets.

Few will object to Farke receiving a new contract, though, if Leeds United is to

return to the Premier League following an incredible debut season at Elland Road.
