Bad news: Everton star player has made it clear he wants to leave amid interest from other clubs

‘I want’ – Amadou Onana’s stance on Everton move amid Arsenal and Man United interest

Amadou Onana’s agent has responded to claims linking the midfielder with an exit.
Amadou Onana, the star of Everton, sparked a lot of Premier League
attention during the January transfer window.
After leaving Lille in the summer of 2022, the 22-year-old has adapted quite well to life in English football and has already
made over 50 appearances for the Toffees. Over the past 18 months, the
young player has garnered praise for his strength and agility in the defensive
midfield position. With nine caps for Belgium, his current form has already
allowed him to establish himself as a senior international, and he is
anticipated to compete in his second major tournament in Euro 2024.
Onana was viewed as a possible target by Arsenal, who have been without Thomas
Partey for significant portions of the seasons and were looking for a midfielder to play alongside Declan Rice.
In a similar vein, Onana was also considered a potential addition to Manchester United’s roster as one of the
best holding midfielders in the league. Onana chose to stay with his present
team, though, as they fought for Premier League survival. According to The
Mirror, the former Lille midfielder was open to leaving Goodison Park in
January, but he had no interest in moving during the middle of the season.
“We could have left this winter, but we once again sat down and asked the question whether it’s the right time, if
the player is ready,” Onana’s sister and agent Melissa is cited as saying by Sports
Witness. It’s my responsibility to present opportunities.
Since it affects both his life and profession, he ultimately has the final
say in the decision. He responded, “No, I want to stay at Everton and I want to
continue to fight,” when I laid out the opportunities.
“I give him the pros and cons of a situation that’s on the table because I’m
lucky that my brother is intelligent, which isn’t the case for all players,” Melissa continued.
“We discuss it, and when he asks for my opinion, I respond, ‘This is what I think.'”
He then decides what to do. In addition, I don’t think transfers are fun in the cold.
Everton, who is now in 18th place and one point out of safety, will play Crystal
Palace in their next match before traveling to Brighton. When the Toffees
play title-chasing Arsenal in their final season-ending match on May 19, they
will be hoping to be eliminated from the relegation mix.
