Done deal:New York Jets Emerge As Possible Destination for an incredible star player

Packers Parting Ways With Veteran Tackle David Bakhtiari; New York Jets Emerge As Possible Destination

The Green Bay Packers’ tenure with the two-time First-team All-Pro offensive lineman David Bakhtiari is coming to an end. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Packers team. The player that was with the team the longest was Bakhtiari, followed in order by Aaron Rodgers and Mason Crosby.

The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reports via MLFootball that the Packers will likely cut the gifted tackle soon. Pro Football Rumors state that the Packers management will save $21 million by choosing not to sign the lineman.

A few weeks prior to rupturing his ACL in 2020, Bakhtiari inked a $105.5 million contract extension with the team. In relation to his position, the deal he received was the highest in the league’s history. But he was out for the rest of the season after he suffered the injury.

Another promising player who will have greater opportunity to succeed if Bakhtiari departs is Rasheed Walker. In 2021, Walker took Elgton Jenkins’ place while he was filling in for Bakhtiari. Walker took over as manager after Jenkins was forced to leave due to an ACL tear.

Due to injuries, Bakhtiari was unable to perform at his best level in the last several seasons. By 2021,He missed the full season after suffering from an ACL tear.

The Athletic reports that his discharge was a “matter of formality.” The New York Jets are said to be Bakhtiari’s nearest landing spot, where he may once more meet league legend and former teammate Aaron Rodgers.

It’s also anticipated that the New York Jets team would overhaul their offensive lineup in its entirety. Given that injuries had already derailed his prior seasons, it is expected that he could be able to secure a contract with the team that includes lucrative incentives.
