Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara to miss remainder of season with major knee injury

Kamara, 24, tears anterior cruciate ligament

The management of Aston Villa announced that French midfielder Boubacar Kamara will miss the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.

“We had two injuries for a considerable amount of the season—Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia—and Boubacar Kamara is the same. “He will miss the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury,” Unai Emery stated at a press conference on Friday.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear during Aston Villa’s 2-1 home loss to Manchester United in the English Premier League last weekend.

“Maybe, more or less, in September or October he is coming back,” said Emery.

Kamara, a product of Pure Olympique Marseille, departed the 2022 Aston Villa French club.

The French international will also be absent from the June 14–15, 2024 UEFA EURO in Germany.
