Unbelievable:Falcons’ Drake London receives eye-opening challenge from WR coach

Falcons’ Drake London receives eye-opening challenge from WR coach

The Atlanta Falcons head into the 2024 NFL offseason facing numerous challenges. With Arthur Smith being fired and Raheem Morris stepping in as the new head coach, there’s a lot on their plate. The team also grapples with uncertainties surrounding the quarterback position, presenting various avenues for potential solutions.

However, one player in particular, wide receiver Drake London, is being spotlighted for significant improvement. Recently, new Falcons wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard laid down a substantial challenge for London ahead of the upcoming 2024 season, as reported by Terrin Waack of atlantafalcons.com.

Hilliard expressed enthusiasm about London’s potential, emphasizing the need for him to elevate his game to the next level. The coaching staff is eager to mentor, motivate, and guide London towards fulfilling his potential.

London entered the NFL with high expectations after being drafted 8th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, following an impressive stint with the USC Trojans. However, his performance in his first two years has been inconsistent.

During his rookie season, London amassed 72 receptions for 866 yards and four touchdowns. In the subsequent year, his production dipped slightly, recording 69 catches for 905 yards and just two touchdowns.

The Falcons’ offensive struggles were exacerbated by instability at the quarterback position, with Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke sharing

duties during the 2023 season. The addition of a new signal caller could potentially remedy this situation.

Nevertheless, Hilliard remains highly impressed by the talent within the Falcons’ pass-catching unit, stating, “We have an excellent core of young talent within our pass-catching group.” If London manages to make significant strides forward, it would be immensely beneficial for the Falcons.
