In a new Everton appeal, Andy Burnham blasts a ‘unforgivable’ Premier League move

Once again, Andy Burnham has criticized the Premier League, this time expressing his frustration over the points-deduction appeal at Everton. He stated that the

Premier League’s actions are detrimental to the club’s well-being, emphasizing the lack of clarity surrounding the situation at Goodison Park in a post on his X account on February 20.

Burnham continued to criticize the impact of the points deductions and appeal process on this season, arguing that it has marred the campaign with uncertainty and led to protests surrounding the team.

In a post on X, he questioned the justification for the Premier League’s actions towards Everton Football Club, expressing frustration over the ongoing lack of clarity. Burnham, who is also a

season ticket holder, lamented the league’s handling of the situation, stating that it has ruined the season for Everton and other clubs. He emphasized the

disappointment of seeing Goodison Park overshadowed by protest when it should be celebrated as one of England’s iconic football venues.

Originally, there was an expectation that Everton would receive the outcome of their appeal before the Crystal Palace game. This timeline was later extended

to after the match, but as of two days later, there is still no clarity on the situation. The main concern revolves around the Premier League’s lack of

communication, which has fueled frustration and impatience among Everton fans and even neutrals. The absence of transparency has triggered outrage, and it’s not just Everton feeling the impact – all clubs involved in the

relegation battle are affected, as the potential points deduction or restoration could significantly influence their Premier League status for the next season.
