Reasons why Rams Release Brian Allen, offensive linemanĀ

The Rams have released Brian Allen, a veteran offensive lineman.

Allen, a 2018 fourth-round draft pick by Los Angeles out of Michigan State, started 32 of 50 regular season games for

the Rams over five seasons. He started center in 16 of 17 regular season games and all postseason games for the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI-winning 2021 season,

and his performance earned him not only Pro Bowl alternate status that season, but also a three-year contract extension from the team in the spring of 2022.

Allen suffered knee and thumb injuries, limiting him to five games in 2022. After a competition for the center position leading up to the 2023 season, the Rams turned to Coleman Shelton.
