Sad News:Raiders Antonio pierce attacks Patrick Mahomes and he is on fire

Raiders Antonio pierce attack Patrick Mahomes

The Las Vegas Raiders were the last team to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs before their Super Bowl run last season, which likely influenced the decision to hire Antonio Pierce as head coach after the season.

However, Pierce wasted no time in stirring up controversy with his recent comments about how the Raiders plan to handle quarterback Patrick Mahomes in future matchups.

“We’ve got the Jordan rules, and what I’m instituting, as long as I’m here, are the

Patrick Mahomes rules,” Pierce stated on the February 16 episode of “The Rush with Maxx Crosby.” “You remember how Jordan faced tough defense from the Pistons in the ’80s before becoming Air

Jordan? They used to rough him up whenever he drove to the basket—elbows, love taps. We made him feel our presence. We’re going to do the same

with Mahomes—mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, I’m making my mark. So, I showed the guys footage of Jordan facing tough defense.”

Pierce also emphasized the importance of winning the division and defeating the dominant Kansas City Chiefs, led by Mahomes.

“We need to prioritize winning the division first. We have to take down the team in red. They’ve been the top dog for [eight] years. Our first task is to challenge the leader: number 15. That’s our initial goal,” he remarked.

These remarks are in line with the reality of Mahomes’ significant impact on the AFC West since entering the league. However, some have raised concerns about Pierce’s statements.

While Antonio Pierce’s comments appear typical of coach rhetoric, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk suggests that the NFL might have reservations about Pierce’s remarks. Florio noted in a February 20 column that the NFL declined to comment on Pierce’s statements, implying a possible disapproval. He

speculated that the league may not want to draw attention to comments discussing aggressive tactics against one of the most popular players in sports, fearing potential backlash for the Raiders.

It is likely that the league office will communicate with the Raiders, either immediately or leading up to the next Raiders-Chiefs game or both. The directive will be straightforward – any attempt to exert additional physicality on Mahomes will result in penalties, fines, and potential suspensions.

It’s difficult to believe Pierce was being literal when he said he’d “knock off the head of the snake,” but Mahomes is the NFL’s face, and the coach may need to choose his words carefully.
