Detroit lions target Linemen in a free agency 

In the upcoming offseason, there might be changes to the Detroit Lions’ offensive line. Both Jonah Jackson and Graham Glasgow, the starting guards, are set to

become free agents. While they have shown interest in staying with the team, their asking prices could be too high for the Lions to retain them.

among others, could feature articles discussing the potential scenarios for the Detroit Lions, including whether Jared

Goff will complete his current contract and the offensive linemen they might target in free agency. In a recent piece by Christian Booher, it’s speculated that the Lions might need to reassess their

offensive line during the offseason. Both starting guards, Jonah Jackson and Graham Glasgow, are heading into free agency, and while they’ve expressed

interest in staying with the team, their asking prices could be too high for the Lions. As a result, the team may need to look for external options. One potential

target mentioned is Robert Hunt, a second-round pick from the 2020 draft who has shown consistent improvement and strong pass-blocking abilities.

He only received two penalties throughout the season. However, his final season under the rookie contract

was affected by injuries, particularly a hamstring injury that caused him to miss some games. Nonetheless, prior to 2023, he had consistently demonstrated

durability by appearing in every game. If the Lions fail to keep one of their starting guards, Hunt would be a dependable option to seamlessly step in and contribute.

Another promising choice is Dotson, who had a standout performance in 2023. Originally drafted in the fourth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers, he joined the Los

Angeles Rams via trade last season. Although he sat out the first three games due to injury, he made a significant impact for the remainder of the season

by starting in every game. Notably, his run-blocking grade saw a remarkable improvement from 61.1 in 2022 to 88.3 in the past season while playing for the Rams.

Dalton Risner, who signed a one-year contract with the Vikings in 2023, swiftly became their starting left guard. His

strong performance in that role led to Cleveland’s trade to Jacksonville. Now, the Vikings must decide whether to

retain Risner, their 2019 second-round pick, who spent his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos and has played in 77 career games. While Risner has

proven to be a reliable pass-blocker, with 87 career pressures allowed over 2,000 pass-blocking snaps, his effectiveness in the run game has been inconsistent. If

the Lions lose a starter, Risner could offer a more cost-effective option and provide veteran depth for the team’s offensive line.
