The Falcons have announce new Coaches ahead of  

 

 

The Falcons announced Thursday that they will keep Shawn Flaherty and Patrick Kramer on their coaching staff. Flaherty returns as an assistant offensive line coach, while Patrick Kramer returns as an offensive assistant.

 

The Falcons also hired John Griffin as director of player performance, Josh Nelson as director of performance science, Paul Constantine as associate director of strength and conditioning, Erik Jernstrom as assistant director of

strength and conditioning, Jacquies Smith as outside linebacker coach, D.J. Williams as offensive assistant/assistant quarterbacks coach, and Rob Dadona as manager of coaching operations.

 

Griffin has spent the last three seasons with the Rams, serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2021 to 2022 and associate director of strength and conditioning in 2023.

Nelson worked as an assistant athletic director at Penn State from 2019 to 24. Nelson began his career at Penn State as an assistant athletic director for applied health and performance science before being promoted to assistant athletic director of high performance for the Nittany Lions football program.

 

Constantine moves to Atlanta after four years (2020-23) at the University of Alabama. He began as an assistant athletic performance coach for the Crimson Tide from 2020 to 2022 before being promoted to director of applied science in 2023.

The Falcons announced on Thursday their decision to retain Shawn Flaherty and Patrick Kramer as part of the coaching staff. Flaherty will resume his role as assistant offensive line coach, while Patrick Kramer returns as an offensive assistant.

 

Additionally, the Falcons have made several new hires: John Griffin joins as director of player performance, Josh Nelson as director of performance science, Paul Constantine as associate director of strength and conditioning,

Erik Jernstrom as assistant director of strength and conditioning, Jacquies Smith as outside linebackers coach, D.J. Williams as offensive assistant/assistant quarterbacks coach, and Rob Dadona as manager of coaching operations.

 

John Griffin comes from the Rams, where he served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and later as associate director of strength and conditioning.

Josh Nelson was previously an assistant athletic director at Penn State, specializing in applied health and performance science. Paul Constantine arrives from the University of Alabama,

where he worked as an assistant athletic performance coach and later as director of applied science. Erik Jernstrom previously worked as an adjunct professor at Linfield University in Oregon. Jacquies Smith was at the

University of Texas as an assistant edge coach in 2023. D.J. Williams brings five seasons of coaching experience from New Orleans, where he worked as an

offensive assistant. Rob Dadona spent the last five seasons with the Jets, starting as a football operations assistant before becoming an assistant to the head coach in 2021.

 

It’s worth noting that Flaherty initially joined the Falcons as a football analyst in 2022 before transitioning to assistant offensive line coach last February, while Kramer started as a football analyst in 2021 and moved up to an offensive assistant role last February after two seasons.
