Breaking News:Sean McVay is very happy

Sean McVay is excited to see what Raheem Morris and his staff of ex-Rams coaches do in Atlanta.

Raheem Morris was hired as head coach of the Falcons this year after serving as the Rams’ defensive coordinator for the

previous three seasons. Morris quickly assembled a coaching staff consisting of other former Rams assistants.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said he was pleased to see Morris promoted, but then went on to promote several former

Rams coaches who do not have better job titles in Atlanta. McVay wants other assistant coaches to see him as a head coach who can help them advance in their careers.

“People are leaving for the right reasons, and I think that attracts quality coaches,” McVay said in an interview.

McVay mentioned that he had lost many of his assistants from last season.

“Raheem took the majority of those guys,” McVay explained. “I believe this is an excellent opportunity for those guys

to advance their careers. He is well-qualified for the position. He’s one of my closest friends and an excellent leader.

McVay expressed confidence that Morris, new Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson (previously the Rams’ quarterbacks coach and pass game

coordinator), and new Falcons defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake (previously the Rams’ assistant head coach) will be very successful.

“Can’t wait to watch him go shine,” McVay said of Morris. “I know Zac and Jimmy will do an outstanding job as his coordinators.”

Morris also hired assistant coaches Tim Berbenich, Nick Jones, K.J. Black, and Lance Schulters, who had previously worked for the Rams and are now with the Falcons.
