Breaking news:Sunderland key player is interested’ in joining club as other top clubs are interested in a lucrative deal

Jack Clarke ‘would be interested’ in joining Southampton

Southampton could make a move to sign Sunderland winger Jack Clarke in the summer transfer window.

HIGHLIGHTS

  •  Southampton are eager to secure Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, with other Premier League clubs also interested in his talent.
  •  Clarke is a coveted player who could boost Southampton’s chances of promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.
  •  Journalist Dean Jones believes Clarke would be keen on joining Southampton.

Journalist Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT that he anticipates Sunderland winger Jack Clarke to be interested in a move, and Southampton is apparently eager to press for the player’s signature before to the summer transfer window.

Clarke is having a great season in the Championship with Sunderland, and when the transfer window opens, he might look to move. The former star of Tottenham Hotspur will hope to play in the Premier League soon, either with Sunderland or another team.

It’s hardly surprising that several teams in the top division of England are reportedly keeping an eye on the 23-

year-old in anticipation of a possible transfer. It appeared as though he might

be on his way through the Stadium of Light’s exit door during the winter window, but no departure was seen.

With the influx of offers, Sunderland may be busy this summer.

Southampton one of the sides keen on Clarke

Prior to the summer transfer window, the Saints are reportedly considering making a bid of about £15 million for Clarke. The 23-year-old is also reportedly liked by West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Brentford, and Lazio. Former Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray called the nimble winger a “super talent,” and it appears that several Premier League clubs feel the same way.

Burnley had four bids for the midfielder rejected during the previous summer transfer window, demonstrating how in-demand he is. Southampton may believe that they must go to the top of the English football league in order to have a shot at signing Clarke, given the amount of clubs from that tier that are interested in him.

When Nathan Tella left for Bayer Leverkusen late in the transfer window, Russell Martin’s team was unable to

replace him, and they have struggled to fill the void at senior level all season.

Although the South Coast club hired David Brooks on a short-term contract in

January to increase their possibilities, they still need a long-term answer.

Clarke, who is only 23 years old and has been playing brilliantly in the

Championship, may be the solution, but Martin must make sure his team gets promoted back to the Premier League as

soon as possible if he hopes to draw a player of this caliber.

Dean Jones – Clarke would be interested in the Saints

Jones has suggested that Clarke would be interested in a move to Southampton and he would be a good fit under Martin. The

journalist adds that Clarke will be hearing from people in the game just

how good Martin is, with the Saints flying high this season. Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said…

Yes, it seems to suit quite well. A club that huge and with the kind of projection they now look to have would definitely pique his interest, I’m sure. He will obviously be aware of their success thus far this season. You will hear from other players on how Russell Martin is enhancing not only the team but also the individuals on it as his reputation in the game continues to grow. Thus, I believe Jack Clarke would be interested in that circumstance.”

Tottenham could re-sign Southampton star

According to reports, Tottenham shouldn’t be written out of the running during the summer transfer window to recruit Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters. Walker-Peters has demonstrated throughout his career that he can play on both sides, and it is rumored the Spurs are thinking of adding one. There is allegedly a £30 million buy-back provision in his contract with the north London team.

In addition to trying to retain part of their current roster, Martin and his hiring staff will be itching to go back to the Premier League in order to entice new players. Walker-Peters and other players like him stayed at St. Mary’s, although they intend to return to the top division shortly to continue their careers.
