Justin Fields names the ‘Mount Rushmore’ of Ohio State football

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields appeared on the “St. Brown Bros” podcast, hosted by NFL receivers and

siblings Amon Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown, where he shared his “Mount Rushmore” of Ohio State players. Fields,

who admitted to having no prior allegiance to Ohio State before joining the team, revealed that he had never watched their games before arriving in

Columbus. Coming from Georgia and being a fan of the SEC, Fields explained that he had no knowledge of Ohio State until he transferred there. Despite his

lack of familiarity with the program, Fields trusted the opportunity to play at Ohio State and made the decision to join the team.

The former starting quarterback certainly left a mark in the program’s history, emerging as one of the most

prolific rushing quarterbacks with an impressive tally of 867 yards and 15 touchdowns over just two seasons.

Hailing from Kennesaw, Georgia, the athlete represented Ohio State from 2019 to 2020 following his transfer from

Georgia. Despite his notable contributions, he modestly excluded himself from his own “Mount Rushmore” of Ohio State players. Reflecting on his

selections, he acknowledged Heisman winners Troy Smith and Ezekiel Elliott, along with standout performers Ted Ginn Jr. and Eddie George.

Interestingly, the absence of Archie Griffin, the only two-time Heisman winner in Buckeye history, raised

eyebrows among observers. Griffin notably played a pivotal role in Ohio State’s last championship victory in 2014.

Amid ongoing speculation regarding the Chicago Bears’ plans for the offseason,

including the possibility of retaining the former Buckeye or drafting a new quarterback, such as Caleb Williams

from Southern California, or exploring trade options, the former Ohio State quarterback has demonstrated his capability as a starting quarterback in

the league. Thus, if the Bears opt to move on from him, he should have no difficulty finding a new team eager to secure his talents.
