Injury and team updates for the Wolves versus Brighton match: Five players ruled out, with two others uncertain.

Wolves host Brighton & Hove Albion at Molineux in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday evening.

Under Gary O’Neil’s management, Wolves have progressed past Brentford

and local rivals West Brom to reach this stage of the competition. They aim to advance to the quarter-finals for the first

time since 2019. Meanwhile, Brighton defeated Championship side Stoke City in the third round at the bet365 Stadium. In

the subsequent round, they scored five goals against Sheffield United, with Joao Pedro netting a hat-trick.

Fortunately, Wolves have a relatively short injury list. Matheus Cunha is the

sole senior player currently sidelined due to injury. He sustained a ‘significant’

hamstring injury during the match against Brentford earlier this month, and the recovery period remains unspecified.

Brazil’s manager, Dorival Junior, has already ruled him out of the national team’s upcoming matches against

England and Spain at the end of the month. As a result, a return to play in April appears to be the most probable outcome.

Injured: Matheus Cunha.

The Seagulls have encountered several injury setbacks this season, with a number of players sidelined for medium to long periods. Solly March sustained a knee injury back in October and has been out of action since then. The 29-year-old’s return before the end of the season is uncertain.

Teenager Jack Hinshelwood picked up an injury during training and has missed the last three games as a result. He underwent foot surgery for a stress fracture and is expected to be sidelined for approximately three months. While his season may not be completely over, he will miss a significant portion of it.

Billy Gilmour is facing a three-match suspension after being sent off in the draw against Everton. The Scotland

international will miss the upcoming FA Cup match as well as two Premier League games.

Brazilian striker Joao Pedro has been absent from the last three games due to a thigh injury. He is not anticipated to

return to action until the end of March, which is a significant setback considering his impressive tally of 19 goals in all competitions this season.

Kaoru Mitoma was unavailable for the match against Everton due to a lower back injury. His return date remains uncertain, with manager Roberto De

Zerbi stating, “I don’t know if Kaoru can play on Wednesday.” If Mitoma is unable to play, the team will be prepared nonetheless and will aim for victory.

James Milner, who has been sidelined for the majority of the month due to injury,

remains a doubt for the upcoming match. He has been grappling with a thigh injury and has not participated in

the last four games. De Zerbi previously ruled him out for a period of two to four games, leaving a slight possibility for his inclusion in the squad against Wolves.

Out: Billy Gilmour, Jack Hinshelwood, Joao Pedro, Solly March. Doubtful: Kaoru Mitoma and James Milner.
