Former Ohio State cornerback arrested on drug and firearm charges

Former Ohio State cornerback Damon Arnette has encountered legal issues.

Arnette was apprehended on January 6 at 3:30 am in Richardson, Texas, and is facing charges of possessing less than a gram of methamphetamine and

unlawfully possessing a firearm. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport broke the news, which remained undisclosed for nearly two months.

Arnette, a former first-round pick by the Raiders in 2020, last participated in an NFL game in 2021. After signing with the

Chiefs in 2022 through a reserve/futures contract, he was swiftly released following an arrest involving charges of

assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

This recent arrest adds to Arnette’s string of off-field troubles, and he has only played in 13 NFL games. During his time

at Ohio State from 2016 to 2019, he appeared in 47 games and recorded 140 tackles along with five interceptions.
