News Now : Daniel Farke talks about the mentality of his players after losing to Chelsea and away Fixture to Huddersfield town

Predicted Leeds United lineup vs. Huddersfield Town as Daniel Farke recalls big-hitters but midfielder absent

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is poised to reintroduce several key attacking players to the Whites’ starting lineup for Saturday’s lunchtime fixture.

Following a midweek rest during the FA Cup Fifth Round clash with Chelsea, Farke’s youthful squad displayed a commendable performance against

Mauricio Pochettino’s Premier League side, narrowly succumbing to a late Conor Gallagher goal. In an effort to prioritize Leeds’ promotion push, key

players were rested or benched, altering the team’s dynamics. The demanding fixture schedule has posed challenges for Leeds in recent weeks, a trend likely to

continue as televised matches dominate the end-of-season Championship run-in. Farke expressed dissatisfaction with scheduling decisions, particularly

regarding the timing of matches against Huddersfield, Stoke City, and Sheffield Wednesday. Consequently, Farke may need to rotate his squad ahead of the

upcoming international break. Nonetheless, he remains capable of fielding a formidable lineup against Huddersfield this weekend.

Illan Meslier, the goalkeeper, has maintained decent form since the beginning of the year, registering multiple clean sheets in league matches.

Connor Roberts, who typically plays at right-back, is likely to retain his position if Archie Gray is needed to fill in the midfield due to Ilia Gruev’s absence.

Joe Rodon, positioned at right centre-back, has become a staple in the starting lineup.

Ethan Ampadu, serving as the stand-in captain, is expected to resume his role in the center-back position.

Junior Firpo, according to Daniel Farke’s remarks in the pre-match press conference, emerged unscathed from the midweek FA Cup fixture, suggesting his

readiness to play. Meanwhile, Sam Byram may need a gradual return to action instead of being immediately inserted into the starting lineup.

Archie Gray, coming off a standout performance at Stamford Bridge, could retain his place in midfield if Ilia Gruev is unavailable for selection.

Glen Kamara, positioned in midfield, was given a break during the midweek fixture and is anticipated to rejoin the starting lineup this weekend, having had time to rest and recuperate.

Willy Gnonto, typically deployed on the right wing, was also rested for a significant portion of the match against Stamford Bridge. However, he faces tough competition from Dan James, who performed exceptionally well in the previous encounter against Huddersfield.

Crysencio Summerville, the left winger from the Netherlands, has been dealing with an ankle injury recently but is expected to be fit to start at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Georginio Rutter, serving as the center forward, benefited from a midweek rest, allowing him to train following the defeat against Chelsea. He appears poised to be reinstated in the lineup.

Patrick Bamford, the striker, similarly enjoyed a rest during the midweek fixture, as he was an unused substitute.

He is likely to return to the starting lineup, potentially displacing Mateo Joseph or Joel Piroe.
