Ronnie O’Sullivan quits snooker tournament after losing two consecutive matches.

Ronnie O’Sullivan has opted to withdraw from the Championship League snooker tournament, even though he had two matches remaining in his group. This decision adds to a trend of O’Sullivan pulling out of tournaments lately. Despite his withdrawal, the remaining players in his group will continue competing at the Morningside Arena in Leicester.

However, fans can expect to see O’Sullivan soon as he is still scheduled to participate in the Riyadh Season World Masters in Saudi Arabia, which begins next week. This non-ranking event for the top eight players will introduce a new ‘golden ball’ rule that could potentially increase the maximum break to 167. O’Sullivan has expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating that he will give it his all.

Looking ahead, O’Sullivan has hinted that he may skip major tournaments in the future due to other commitments. When asked about his participation in the 2025 Welsh Open, he suggested that his decision would depend on the offers he receives from tournament organizers. O’Sullivan emphasized the importance of managing his schedule, particularly as he approaches the age of 50, and mentioned the allure of playing in big events in the Far East and Asia.
