Braves Sign Skye Bolt to Minor League Contract.

The Braves have recently inked outfielder Skye Bolt to a minor league deal, and he made his debut in Spring

Training today, entering the exhibition game against the Tigers as a defensive replacement.

Bolt, aged 30, is aiming for a return to the majors for the first time since 2022. The North Carolina native had stints in the

big leagues with the Bay Area teams between 2019 and 2022, primarily with the A’s in the latter years, where he

posted a .198/.259/.330 batting line across 42 games. Overall, he holds a .156/.205/.266 slash line over 187 plate appearances in the majors.

In Triple-A, Bolt has shown better performance, boasting a .298/.388/.483

line over four seasons, mostly in hitter-friendly environments in the Pacific Coast League. However, his numbers

dipped slightly last season with Milwaukee’s Triple-A affiliate, where he recorded a .257/.359/.367 line in 64 games.

Known for his above-average speed, Bolt is capable of playing all outfield positions and has displayed a propensity for drawing walks in the minors, albeit with

limited power. While it’s unlikely he secures a spot on the Opening Day roster, he provides depth for the Triple-A Gwinnett team.

Although Atlanta’s starting outfield of Jarred Kelenic, Michael Harris II, and

Ronald Acuña Jr. is set, their depth options lack significant MLB experience. With Forrest Wall and J.P. Martínez, the

other outfielders on the 40-man roster, having a combined 32 big league games, the Braves have added several non-roster players to compete for a potential

fourth outfield role. Notable contenders in big league camp include Leury García, Jordan Luplow, Eli White, Luis Liberato, and Luke Williams.
