|Chelsea have send scouts to discuss possible deal with Leeds to sign top player
Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is poised to attract significant interest when the summer transfer window opens, with Chelsea being the latest club monitoring his performances in the Championship.
The pressure is mounting for Leeds to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League and compete in the top tier once more, both for sporting reasons and in terms of potential player transfers.
With several players in their squad demonstrating readiness for top-flight
football, Leeds could face attention from clubs across Europe if they fail to secure promotion by May.
According to TEAMtalk’s latest report, Chelsea has shown interest in signing Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville during the upcoming summer transfer window. Scouts from Chelsea have
reportedly observed Summerville’s performances at Elland Road multiple times this season and have been impressed by his displays.
Summerville is currently under contract with Leeds until the summer of 2026, having signed an extension in 2022 while Jesse Marsch was the manager.
However, it’s worth noting that Summerville is not Chelsea’s primary target for reinforcing their winger
position. The Blues are reportedly prioritizing Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, who has been performing well in La Liga
at the age of 21, contributing three goals and six assists so far this season. Another player on Chelsea’s radar is Marcus
Edwards from Sporting CP, who previously came through Tottenham’s academy before moving to Portugal in 2019.
If Leeds secure promotion, Summerville will only be allowed to depart if a transfer fee surpasses the £55 million
received for Raphinha’s sale to Barcelona. However, if Leeds remain in the Championship, it’s inevitable that Summerville will depart for a Premier
League club, albeit for a substantial fee. As the standout player in the Championship, the transfer fee should reflect his value accordingly.
