Breaking:Ronnie O’Sullivan has ‘arm twisted’

Ronnie O’Sullivan has ‘arm twisted’ to enter event he sets out for. Preparing the crucible

Ronnie O’Sullivan revealed that his sponsors have persuaded him to compete in the Tour Championship next

month, extending his schedule to include two additional tournaments before the World Championship kicks off in April.

Following his victory at the World Masters of Snooker in Riyadh, where he triumphed over Luca Brecel 5-2 in the final and secured a substantial £250,000

prize, O’Sullivan clinched his fifth title of the season, further solidifying his status as the favorite for the upcoming World Championship, where he aims to claim a record eighth trophy.

Despite his remarkable success, the 48-year-old remains committed to his hectic schedule, with plans to participate in the World Open in Yushan, China, starting on March 18, followed by the Tour Championship in Manchester, commencing on April 1.

Although O’Sullivan initially contemplated skipping the Tour Championship, citing his preference to avoid the event, his sponsors ultimately convinced him to partake in the 12-man tournament in Manchester.

“I’m committed to continuing playing and enjoying it,” O’Sullivan informed WST during his time in Riyadh. “I’m looking forward to heading to China next week for a tournament that I’m prepared to perform well in. Then, of course, there’s the one in Manchester, where my sponsors have urged me to excel because it’s significant to them.

“For the next four tournaments, including the recent one in Saudi Arabia, I’m fully dedicated to giving it my all because of the support and backing from my sponsors.”

Having already secured a place in the last 64 of the World Open after a qualifier, O’Sullivan is scheduled to face Michael White on Tuesday, March 19.

Following the World Open, O’Sullivan has plans for an exhibition event in Hong Kong from March 25 to 27, featuring players such as Judd Trump, Mark Williams, Jack Lisowski, Marco Fu, and Si Jiahui.
